Air Visual: Jakarta Return to Top of Most Polluted City Table

According to Air Visual, Jakarta has once again topped the list of the world’s most polluted cities by Thursday afternoon.

The city took the spot earlier last week, before being knocked down to the 19th position on Monday morning, 5th August, after the mass blackout which took place in the weekend.

At 2pm on Thursday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded to be 160, with a fine particulate matter (PM2.5) concentration of 73.5 micrograms per meter cubic (µg/m3).

Dubai in the UAE claimed second position with an AQI of 145 and a PM2.5 concentration of 53.3 µg/m3, followed by Hong Kong with an AQI of 136 and a PM2.5 concentration of 47.5µg/m3.
