Sandiaga Uno: Struggle Not Over, We Will Fight

Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno

Prabowo’s running mate for the 2019 presidential election, Sandiaga Uno, has stated that he will continue to fight alongside Prabowo.

“I will always fight by Prabowo’s side, to the last drop of blood, to make democracy in this country more mature and for a fair and just democratic system,” Sandiaga declared the statement via Twitter.

The famous businessman-turned-politician further iterated that he has no desire for power. Sandi added that, along with Prabowo, he will continue to fight for the sake of the nation, better economic conditions, and fair governance.

Sandiaga, who started his political career in 2015 with the Great Indonesia Movement Party or Gerindra – led by Prabowo – has previously been listed as one of Indonesia’s richest people by GlobeAsia. Sandiaga served as vice-governor to Anies Baswedan, Jakarta’s current governor in 2017, before leaving his post vacant to pursue the vice-presidential seat.

Prabowo has continuously rejected the General Election Commission’s (KPU) result announcement, which favoured the incumbent Joko Widodo. The retired army general also stated on Tuesday that he will seek legal recourse and proceed to bring a case to the constitutional court.
