Palembang Airport Receives Prestigious International Awards

The International Airport Council has awarded the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin (SMB) II Airport in Palembang, South Sumatra, four prestigious international awards in the field of services.

The airport is now officially one of the best performing airports in the Asia Pacific region.

“We received the prestigious awards on 4th September during the Customer Experience Global Summit 2019 held in Nusa Dua, Bali, and attended by executives of world airport operators,” Executive General Manager of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin (SMB) II Airport, Fahroji, said.

The award also recognises the service transformation programme that was launched by state operator PT. Angkasa Pura I in terms of physical infrastructure as well as information technology.

The four awards given to the airport are all in the category of 2-5 million passengers, and within the Asia-pacific region:

– Best Airport by Size and Region
– Best Environment and Ambience by Size
– Best Customer Service by Size
– Best Infrastructure and Facility by Size
