Miss Indonesia Places Third at Miss World 2016

Miss Indonesia Natasha Mannuela Halim bagged the third place in the prestigious Miss World 2016 competition held in in Oxon Hill, Maryland, on Sunday, December 18.

The year 2016 witnessed Indonesian beauties take home the crowns for various international beauty pageants. Ariska Putri Pertiwi won the Miss Grand International title in Las Vegas last October, while Natasha Mannuela Halim won second runner-up in the prestigious Miss World competition last Sunday, December 18.

More fondly called Acha by friends, Natasha Mannuela Halim is presently pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Prasetiya Mulya Business School. The 22-year-old beauty queen got her chance to join Miss World by bagging the Miss Indonesia 2016 title while representing Bangka Belitung in February.

Other than finishing third, Acha was also crowned ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ for her noble work of helping locals fishermen in Bantar Gebang, Bekasi. She helps and facilitates the development of catfish ponds in the region and teaches them the business skills to monetize them.

The same special award was given to Miss Indonesia 2015 Maria Harfanti who also placed third in last year’s Miss World competition. Puerto Rico’s pride Stephanie Del Valle was crowned Miss World 2016.
