Sandiaga: Optimistic about Prabowo in Jokowi’ Cabinet

Sandiaga Uno

Sandiaga Uno has commented the appointment of Prabowo Subianto as Defence Minister in Jokowi’s cabinet for the period of 2019-2024.

Sandiaga showed his support for Prabowo in running the Ministry of Defence, which is considered vital for Indonesia. He is optimistic that Prabowo will improve the situation and solve the existing challenges at the ministry.

“I am optimistic about Prabowo’s work, although many challenges will be faced,” Sandiaga said on 26th October.

Previously, Sandiaga had stated that Prabowo’s decision to join Jokowi’s cabinet was not a wrong move. He explained that the appointment of Prabowo as minister means that Jokowi gives his trust and it is a good signal for unity in Indonesia.

Sandiaga gave no further comments about Prabowo and other ministers in the cabinet of Indonesia Maju, that has started to work. According to him, making many comments at the beginning of the work can disturb the situation.

“Let them work and after six months, we can evaluate and give input,” Sandiaga added.

Sandiaga and Prabowo have not communicated with each other since Prabowo was appointed as Defence Minister. It is planned that Sandiaga will meet Prabowo before his visit to Turkey. He admitted that he will give advice to Prabowo if he is asked to help.
