Police: Rock-Filled Ambulance Belongs to Arsari Group and Prabowo’s Brother

An ambulance bearing Gerindra stickers during the 22nd May riots

Deputy Secretary of the Gerindra Party, Andre Rosiade, stated that the party is still investigating reports about a rock-filled ambulance bearing Gerindra stickers during the 22nd May riots.

Andre is urging the public to stop speculating about the party’s involvement in the demonstrations.

“We appeal to the public not to jump to conclusions as we are also investigating the matter,” Andre said on Friday.

Earlier, Jakarta Metro Police spokesman Senior Commmissioner Argo Yuwono, issued a statement that the ambulance is officially registered under PT. Arsari Pratama. The Arsari Group itself is owned by Prabowo’s brother, Hashim Djojohadikusumo.

Director of PT. Arsari Pratama, Daniel Poluan, explained that the company never used the ambulance since they generally donate ambulances to an organisation called Kesehatan Indonesia Raya (Kesira). Daniel claims that Arsari Group donated the ambulances a long time ago, for Kesira’s medical purposes.
