CupoNation: Indonesia’s Internet Speed Second Lowest in ASEAN

SIngapore's Internet Speed is the fastest in ASEAN

Discount code portal CupoNation Indonesia has revealed that Indonesia ranks the second lowest in Southeast Asia in terms of fibre optic internet connection speed.

The company concluded that the factors that influence connectivity are the country’s infrastructure, geography, as well as local habits.

According to CupoNation, Singapore is currently the only country in the region that offers fiber optic internet connection with a speed of up to 2 gigabytes per second (Gbps), which puts the country at the top of the list. Malaysia has the second fastest internet connection in Southeast Asia with a speed of up to 1 Gbps, followed by the Philippines. Thailand ranks third, with a speed of 500 megabytes per second (Mbps).

Indonesia, with a speed of 200 Mbps, has only been able to outperform Cambodia – which has a fibre optic internet connection of 30 Mbps.
