The first Swissôtel in Indonesia introduces SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia as the official charity partner of the hotel.
This is marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and the launch of “The Longest Stollen Bread Display in Jakarta” to celebrate the festive season and giving back to the children this December 2019.
The event was graced by the guest of honour, Mr. Gregor Hadi Nitihardjo, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia, together with Mr. Alexander Poindl, Cluster General Manager of Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue and Mercure Jakarta Pantai Indah Kapuk.
The signing of the MoU was attended by over 50 guests, including children from SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia, hotel guests, colleagues, and members of the press, in order to raise funds and awareness about helping the children.
At the event, the children performed Christmas carols and joined in lighting the Christmas tree – the first time for the hotel – and was followed by a festive dinner prepared by the culinary team of Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue. By partnering with SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia, Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue joins the brand’s global partnership with SOS Children’s Villages, an NGO that has been helping children around the world since 1949.
In the same event, the hotel launched “The Longest Stollen Bread Display in Jakarta”, in the spirit of Christmas and giving back. All profits of the displayed stollen breads will go to SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia. The pastry team baked and prepared 150-metre long display and these festive-inspired goodies will be on show in the hotel lobby, adjacent to the North Lobby or PIK Avenue Mall.
“We are proud, and at the same time grateful, to be working closely with SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia. Children are our future and Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue is honoured to contribute to foster and help the underprivileged kids.
We hope to inspire more awareness within our communities to help and provide as much education and good living as possible for the children,” said Mr. Alexander Poindl, Cluster General Manager of Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue and Mercure Jakarta Pantai Indah Kapuk.
