LRT to Start Free Trial Run on Tuesday

PT LRT Jakarta is set to run a free public trial starting on Tuesday 11th June 2019. Passengers wishing to take part in the trial run must register at LRT Jakarta’s official website www.lrtjakarta.co.id/uji-publik.html

Passengers will be asked to fill out their details and choose a date to book their seat; an e-ticket will then be sent via e-mail. In order to board the train, passengers must exchange the e-ticket for a single-trip ticket at their nearest LRT station.

The trial run will take place in five stations, namely North Boulevard, South Boulevard, Pulomas, Equestrian, and Velodrome. All stations will be opened from 5.30 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day. The LRT track itself runs for 5.8 kilometres from Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, to the Jakarta International Velodrome Station in East Jakarta.

LRT Jakarta corporate communications manager Melisa Sucianti said that the trial aims to familiarise Jakarta citizens with the new mode of transport. She added that LRT Jakarta is yet to set a date for its commercial operation, where a standard LRT fare has been set at Rp 5,000.
