The South Jakarta Immigration Office has deported a Dutch national with the initials TAV after he allegedly caused a disturbance while staying at a hotel in the Tendean area of Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta.
The circulating CCTV footage reportedly shows TAV damaging a water dispenser by kicking it. According to the hotel’s report, he also damaged other property, including chairs, glasses, room lamps, and paintings.
Rizki Ikhsan, the Head of Immigration Intelligence at the South Jakarta Immigration Office, said TAV entered Indonesia using a Visa on Arrival (VoA) for holiday purposes. During his stay in the country, he reportedly checked into two hotels in different areas: Menteng, Central Jakarta, and Tendean, South Jakarta.
“During his stay in Indonesia, he stayed at two hotels within the South Jakarta Immigration Office’s jurisdiction: Menteng and Tendean,” Ikhsan confirmed on Wednesday, the 22nd of July.
Following the vandalism incident, the hotel reported the case to the Mampang Prapatan Police, which subsequently referred the matter to the South Jakarta Immigration Office.
Ikhsan said that, based on the investigation, TAV had committed an act that endangered public security and public order, as stipulated in Article 75, paragraph (1) of the Immigration Law. Immigration officers then took TAV into custody. He has since been deported to his country of origin.
“TAV was [already] deported via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on the 20th of July,” Ikhsan continued.
The South Jakarta Immigration Office stated that it will continue to strengthen monitoring of the presence and activities of foreign nationals through close cooperation with the police, local governments, accommodation providers, and other relevant stakeholders.
