Indonesian airline TransNusa is launching a direct flight route between Melbourne and Bali (Denpasar), which will operate daily from the 19th of October, 2026, with the flight tickets having been available for purchase since the 15th of September.
The Group CEO of TransNusa Datuk Bernard Francis stated that the launch of the Melbourne–Bali route holds strategic significance for the company’s international expansion.
“The launch of the Melbourne–Bali route marks a major step in TransNusa’s international expansion strategy. This new route represents a key milestone in TransNusa’s international growth while reinforcing Bali’s position as a primary gateway between Australia and Asia. At the same time, we are offering travellers a new choice that combines connectivity, value, and a more premium travel experience,” Francis said on Thursday, 17th of September.
TransNusa will operate a schedule featuring both evening and morning flights, designed to provide greater travel flexibility. TransNusa flight 8B-18 departs from Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) at 8.45 PM local time and arrives at Melbourne Airport (MEL) at 5.40 AM local time the following day. Meanwhile, TransNusa flight 8B-19 departs from Melbourne Airport (MEL) at 6.25 AM local time and arrives in Bali (DPS) at 9.40 AM local time.
Coinciding with the launch of the Melbourne–Bali route, TransNusa is also introducing “Premium Plus“, a new service class making its debut across the airline’s network. This service is designed to provide enhanced comfort and support efficient travel connectivity. Through this service, TransNusa passengers can connect to 11 island destinations and key tourist spots within the TransNusa network.
Premium Plus is aimed at passengers seeking greater comfort without the price tag of business class, offering various priority amenities and additional baggage allowance. Additionally, Premium Plus seating is limited to just 20 seats per flight.
In terms of pricing, TransNusa is offering exclusive introductory fares starting at AU$299 (Rp3,399,000) for Basic seats, while the Premium Plus experience is available from AU$699 (Rp9,099,000). Both options can be purchased via TransNusa’s official website www.transnusa.co.id or other authorised travel booking platforms.
