As the sun set on Saturday evening, the spectacular Cap Go Meh celebration at Pantjoran Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) came to a close, marking an unforgettable finale to this year’s Lunar New Year festivities.

The three-week celebration, which began on January 25, transformed PIK into a vibrant showcase of cultural harmony and modern entertainment.

The highlight of this celebration was the Pagoda Laser Show, an unprecedented addition that set the 2025 festivities apart from previous years. As the evening approached, Pantjoran PIK came alive with a mesmerizing fusion of dancing lights, choreographed to honour the Year of the Snake. The spectacular show featured intricate zodiac-inspired displays that left spectators in awe. Renowned Mandarin singer Huang Jia Jia further elevated the festivities with an electrifying performance that had the crowd singing and dancing, fully immersed in the joyful celebration.

Cap Go Meh at Pantjoran PIK Adding to the festivities, visitors also enjoyed the Pagoda Lighting Show in PIK and a spectacular array of fireworks. According to traditions, light symbolizes a brighter new beginning to welcome a good year. As such, the Pagoda Lighting Show and fireworks is an iconic event at Pantjoran PIK for all to enjoy. Following the destination’s opening in 2020, everyone can now experience a special Cap Go Meh celebration in Jakarta.

Following this year’s Chinese zodiac animal, Pantjoran PIK adds delightful and unique touches to the decorations. Upon arrival, the Lunar New Year atmosphere thickens with colourful hanging lanterns, lines of flowering meihua trees, rows of sculptures, and an installation depicting this year’s zodiac animal in front of the Prosperity Gate.

Anwar Salim, Director of Operating Units at Amantara -Agung Sedayu Group, said: “We wish that this Lunar New Year celebration at Pantjoran PIK enliven the festivities for visitors and residents in the PIK area. As evening approached, the celebration transformed into a sensory spectacle. Lion and dragon dancers weaved through the crowds, while a costume parade showcased the rich tapestry of traditional attire. Live musical performances created an energetic atmosphere that carried well into the night.
