Tanjung Lesung in Pandeglang, Banten, will offer new tourism activities for sports enthusiasts, who will soon be able to try skydiving while enjoying panoramic views of the cape’s coastline from above.

The plan to develop these activities is being carried out through a partnership between PT Banten West Java (BWJ)—the manager and developer of the Tanjung Lesung Tourism Special Economic Zone (SEZ)—and PT Bro Skydive Indonesia. The collaboration includes developing skydiving, sport aviation, and aviation tourism in the Tanjung Lesung area.

The cooperation agreement was signed in Jakarta on Thursday, the 1st of October. Fanny Kusuma Dewi, President Director of PT Bro Skydive Indonesia, stated that Tanjung Lesung has the potential to become a unique skydiving destination, as tourists can combine aerial sports with other leisure activities.

“Beyond its natural beauty, Tanjung Lesung boasts comprehensive infrastructure for skydiving. After a jump, visitors can try activities such as jet-skiing, fishing, snorkelling, or island hopping,” Dewi said in her statement.

A number of facilities will also be prepared to support these operations, including a landing zone, extensions to the apron and taxiway, and runway adjustments to ensure safer flight and landing activities.

Regarding accessibility, travel to Tanjung Lesung is expected to become easier with the construction of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road. Section 3A (Cileles-Bojong) is targeted for completion in November 2026, while the entire toll road is projected to be finished by the second quarter of 2027.

Once the toll road is fully operational, the travel time from Jakarta to Tanjung Lesung is estimated to be around 2 to 2.5 hours. This development has the potential to make the coastal tourism area in Banten more accessible to tourists from Jakarta and the surrounding regions.

Furthermore, starting on Saturday, the 3rd of October, travellers can use the DAMRI bus service to travel from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to the Tanjung Lesung tourist area. This service is designed to make it easier for tourists to continue their journey after arriving at the airport. The DAMRI route connects the airport to Tanjung Lesung via Labuan, Pandeglang, and Rangkasbitung.

For trips from Tanjung Lesung to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, DAMRI offers departures at 4 AM, 7 AM, 10 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM local time. Meanwhile, departures from the airport to Tanjung Lesung are available at 8 AM, 10 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM, and 6 PM local time. The fare for the trip between Tanjung Lesung and the airport—in either direction—is set at Rp175,000.
