Mayapada Healthcare Group has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering international-standard healthcare services, not only through clinical excellence but also through the development of modern, safe, and sustainable hospital infrastructure.
This commitment is reflected in its collaboration with China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), one of the world’s largest construction companies, for the development of Tower 3 at Mayapada Hospital South Jakarta (MHJS). The project is set to become one of the largest private hospital developments in Indonesia.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Jonathan Tahir, President Commissioner of Mayapada Healthcare; Tina He, Deputy General Manager of CSCEC Shenzhen Headquarters; and Bai Jinsong, General Manager of CSCEC Division 4 International.
Navin Sonthalia, President Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mayapada Healthcare, stated, “The appointment of CSCEC demonstrates our commitment to partnering with world-class construction firms with proven global expertise. Hospital infrastructure plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and internationally aligned patient experience. Through this collaboration, we are ensuring that MHJS Tower 3 is developed in accordance with global standards, advanced technology, and a strong emphasis on long-term efficiency and sustainability.”
MHJS Tower 3 will feature next-generation medical facilities designed to meet the growing demand for advanced healthcare services, both now and in the future. Developed on a 26,917-square-metre site, the tower will have a total built-up area of 110,209 square metres, comprising 24 floors and four basement levels. As an advanced medical service centre, the facility will be equipped with cutting-edge medical technologies, including nuclear medicine-based cancer treatment, non-invasive brain tumour surgery, minimally invasive cardiac procedures, robotic-assisted orthopaedic surgery, and integrated medical rehabilitation services.
In collaboration with Apollo Hospitals India, MHJS Tower 3 will also function as a hub for knowledge transfer and competency development for consultants and medical specialists, further strengthening the hospital’s Centres of Excellence. The tower is scheduled to commence operations in the second half of 2027.
Charlie Salim, Chief Project and Facility Officer of Mayapada Healthcare, added, “This collaboration builds on our previous partnership with CSCEC, including the development of an automated vertical parking facility at Mayapada Hospital Surabaya. CSCEC’s extensive global experience provides a strong foundation for the consistent implementation of reliable construction standards across Mayapada Healthcare’s expanding portfolio.”
CSCEC is a globally recognised contractor with a track record of delivering large-scale and complex projects, including hospitals in Cambodia, Laos, and China with capacities of up to 2,000 beds. Its portfolio also includes landmark developments across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, such as skyscrapers in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and China. In Indonesia, CSCEC has participated in various national strategic projects, including toll road construction, industrial facilities, and commercial developments in major cities.
Tina He, Deputy General Manager of CSCEC Shenzhen Headquarters, commented, “We are honoured to support Mayapada Healthcare in delivering international-standard healthcare infrastructure in Indonesia. Through this collaboration, CSCEC is committed to applying world-class construction practices to deliver MHJS Tower 3 as a modern, safe, and sustainable hospital, while contributing to the growth of Indonesia’s healthcare ecosystem.”
In addition, Mayapada Group, the parent company of Mayapada Healthcare Group, plans to expand its strategic partnership with CSCEC across various cross-sector projects in Indonesia. These include the development of data centres to strengthen national information systems, as well as steel industry facilities to enhance domestic supply chain resilience and support infrastructure development across the country’s strategic sectors.
