Mayapada Healthcare Strengthens Collaboration with Apollo Hospitals India to Enhance Indonesia’s Healthcare Sector.
Mayapada Healthcare (PT Sejahteraraya Anugrahjaya Tbk.) (IDX: SRAJ) has strengthened its clinical collaboration with Apollo Hospitals India through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Jonathan Tahir, Chairman & Group CEO of Mayapada Healthcare, and Dr. Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals, on Saturday, the 25th of January, 2025, in New Delhi, India, witnessed by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Budi Gunadi Sadikin. The signing ceremony was a part of the series of events during the state visit between Indonesia and India, which included a bilateral meeting between the President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, and the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, the 76th India’s Republic Day celebration where the President attended as the chief guest, and the Indonesia-India CEO Forum organised by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The MoU signed between Mayapada Healthcare and Apollo Hospitals serves as a concrete demonstration of the collaboration between the private sectors of both countries to support the healthcare sector, in line with the strategic partnership between the Ministry of Health Republic Indonesia and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of India during the bilateral meeting. According to the official statement from the Presidential Press Bureau, President Prabowo stated, “In our discussions on trade, investment, tourism, healthcare, energy, security cooperation, AI (artificial intelligence), digital IT, and energy, we agreed to strengthen this collaboration.”
In the official statement released by KADIN Indonesia, the Chairman of KADIN Indonesia, Anindya Novyan Bakrie, together with his counterpart, the Chairman of The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Ajay Shriram, reported the Joint Statement MoU document from the CEO Forum to President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The document report covers several sectors, including healthcare, where the agreement between Mayapada Healthcare and Apollo Hospitals is included. Continuing the collaboration that has been established since the year 2023, the focus of the collaboration between Mayapada Healthcare and Apollo Hospitals includes the establishment of state-of-the-art tertiary care at the Mayapada Apollo Batam International Hospital (MABIH), the upcoming hospital that will be built soon in Batam Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the implementation of Tele-Radiology, E-ICU, and Artificial Intelligence, as well as the transfer of knowledge program through medical education and workforce development to train and upskill healthcare professionals.
