Bank Indonesia (BI) has launched the Indonesia Tourist Travel Pack at the International Arrivals Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali. The launch was carried out in the spirit of promoting inclusive and sustainable digital innovation.

Moreover, together with its official partner, Telkomsel, BI also inaugurated the Tourism Information Centre (TIC) in the International Arrivals Area of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali. The centre serves as a one-stop service point, facilitating the Indonesia Tourist Travel Pack and the QRIS Wisata Nusantara booklet.

This initiative forms part of the Bali Digital Innovation Festival (Baligivation 2025) series, a platform designed to foster cross-sector collaboration and strengthen the digital ecosystem in Bali.

In greater detail, the Indonesia Tourist Travel Pack entails purchasing Telkomsel SIM card or eSIM in the International Arrivals Area of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali. Then, the traveller would also receive education in the TIC area regarding how to use e-wallets, either chip-based or card-based, consisting of electronic money (e-money) products from Bank Mandiri, Flazz from BCA, Brizzi from BRI, and TapCash from BNI, as well as server-based e-wallets namely OVO and GoPay. These e-wallets would be ready for transactions using the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS).

The whole travel pack thus enables international tourists to communicate, access the internet, and make digital transactions in Bali quickly and securely. Foreign travellers and tourists can use the e-wallets, in particular, to make transactions at various merchants located at tourist spots, restaurants, souvenir centers, and public services in Bali.

“This collaboration is a tangible demonstration of Telkomsel’s support for the digitalisation of the national tourism sector. With our leading broadband network and range of convenient services, we aim to ensure that [foreign] tourists enjoy a seamless and reliable digital experience from the moment they arrive in Indonesia,” said Herbintarto, Manager of the Denpasar Mobile Consumer Branch, in a press release on Thursday, the 13th of November.

The Indonesia Tourist Travel Pack will be available for purchase directly at several official service points in the International Arrivals Area of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, from November to December 2025.

“This initiative supports the national strategy to expand the use of QRIS, particularly among international tourists who are not yet part of the QRIS Cross-Border network. By leveraging strategic locations such as international airports, this programme reaches visitors from the moment they arrive in Indonesia,” added Filianingsih Hendarta, Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, as quoted from the press on Thursday as well.
