The number of aircraft passenger movements at Soekarno–Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, as of Tuesday, 25th of March (D-6 before the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah), was recorded at 146,006 people.
The General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Dwi Andika Wicaksana, explained that of the 146,006 passengers, 78,876 departed and 67,130 arrived. This number increased by 6,000 passengers compared to the previous day.
“In Terminal 2, domestic flights were recorded at 262, marking an increase of 25.17%, with a total of 36,747 passengers or 25.16%. Meanwhile, international flights in Terminal 2 recorded 104 aircraft movements or 10%, with a total of 13,686 passengers or 9.37%,” he detailed, as quoted from the press on Tuesday.
Wicaksana also added, “International passengers at Terminal 3 were 21,312 people or up 14.59% with 127 flights or up 12.2%. Meanwhile, the total cargo was recorded at 36 flights.”
PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) projected that aircraft passenger movements at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport might reach 3.5 million during the 2025 Eid homecoming (mudik) period. This figure represents a projected 12% increase compared to last year.
Furthermore, the 2025 Eid homecoming period is expected to last for 22 days, from the 21st of March to the 11th of April. The peak of the homecoming flow is projected to occur on the 28th of March, while the return flow is expected to begin on the 7th of April.
InJourney Airports President Director Faik Fahmi said that extending operating hours was also part of managing the limited number of aircraft in Indonesia and anticipating weather-related disruptions.
“I specifically emphasise to all branches to really prepare the airport to be able to operate 24 hours at any time. This is anticipation because the number of aircraft is limited,” he remarked last Thursday, 20th of March.
