Food and travel vlogger Mark Wiens journeys to Petra in the Middle Eastern country of Jordan, but encounters amazing local Arabic cuisine along the way.
On the outskirts of Amman, he visits Dana Village in the Dana Biosphere Reserve. There, they were served a dish called muqlaba, which literally translates to “upside down.” It’s a rice dish with a protein cooked on the bottom of the pot. When it is ready to serve, the pot is turned upside down to showcase the meat and lovely pilaf-style rice. Check it out in the video below.
