A foreign national from the United States, identified with the initials JRG (44), was deported from Bali after being caught running a private sex course.
The Head of Immigration at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Winarko, revealed that JRG arrived in Bali with a visa on arrival (VoA) on the 4th of September. Instead of travelling, the foreigner opened a sex training class.
The sex class targeted foreign nationals from various countries who were in Bali. In the class, JRG reportedly taught techniques related to intimate relationships, emotional closeness, and sexual activity using sex toys.
“During the class, photos of equipment related to sexual activity were found,” said Winarko, as quoted from the press on Wednesday, 24th of September.
It was revealed that JRG charged US$6,997 for the sex class, equivalent to Rp112 million per person. Winarko also divulged that JRG marketed the course through websites and social media. Moreover, JRG promoted the activity within their network of fellow foreigners in Bali.
The Ngurah Rai Class I Special Immigration Office successfully uncovered this practice after conducting intensive monitoring, including cyber patrols. The discovery stemmed from public reports raising suspicions about JRG’s activities.
JRG attempted to flee to Jakarta but was apprehended at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, on Tuesday, the 16th of September. The foreigner was deported back to their home country via the Denpasar–Taipei–Los Angeles route on Thursday, the 18th of September.
Winarko asserted that foreign tourists must never violate immigration regulations or defy domestic laws in Indonesia.
“Every foreigner in Indonesia is required to comply with immigration regulations and respect applicable legal norms. We will take firm action against anyone who violates them,” he added.
For their actions, JRG was proven to have violated Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. In addition, JRG was also placed on the list of people barred from re-entering Indonesian territory.
