From 23–27 September 2025, Paulaner Bräuhaus Jakarta, the capital’s only genuine German microbrewery, invites you to experience the spirit of Munich’s legendary Oktoberfest, right in the heart of the city.
With over two centuries of history, Oktoberfest first took place in 1810 to celebrate the royal wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig (later King Ludwig I) and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. What began as a joyful gathering with horse races, music, and, of course, beer, soon evolved into an annual tradition. Today, it has become the world’s largest folk festival, attracting millions to Munich and inspiring vibrant celebrations across the globe.
At the core of the festival is the Oktoberfestbier. Only six Munich breweries are permitted to brew this special beer, following the Reinheitsgebot, Germany’s purity law of 1516, which allows only water, hops, and malt. The result is a beer that’s hearty, smooth, and perfect for long evenings of festivity.
This year, Oktoberfest Jakarta at Paulaner Bräuhaus promises hearty Bavarian fare, endless pours of freshly brewed Paulaner Oktoberfestbier, and evenings filled with games, laughter, and Bavarian cheer. To complete the authentic atmosphere, Edelweiss-Power, a spirited Austrian band, will perform traditional folk tunes and upbeat party music straight from Southeast Germany.
