Experience Japanese Flavors in the Heart of Ubud at Norii

Ubud is one of Bali’s most culturally rich areas, known for its greenery, traditional arts, and a dining scene that has grown steadily more interesting.

As a Japanese restaurant in Ubud, Norii covers a wide range of Japanese cooking styles under one roof, from the robata grill to fresh sushi and ramen. For anyone looking for dining places in Ubud that go beyond the usual, it’s a solid destination for both casual meals and more intentional dining occasions.

Fire, Craft, and Japanese Flavour

Norii’s menu spans Japanese grill, sushi, sashimi, nigiri, and ramen, giving guests plenty to work through across multiple visits. The Robatayaki Beef leads the kitchen’s strengths, a striploin meltique beef served with yakiniku sauce, charred vegetables, ichimi, garlic chips, and spring onion.

From the Salmon Carpaccio with truffle shoyu and tobiko to the Aburi Salmon Rolled, Spicy Tempura Maki, and Norii Toro Ramen Dry, the menu covers a wide range of Japanese favorites with consistent quality throughout.

A Bar Worth Lingering At

The signature cocktail list draws on Japanese ingredients, with drinks like the Sake Rika built on sake, yuzu puree, and elderflower syrup, and the Kobe 1945 combining umeshu, gin, and lemongrass syrup.

Classic cocktails like the Espresso Martini and Whiskey Sour are also on the menu for guests who prefer something more familiar. For non-alcoholic options, the matcha mocktail series is worth trying, with choices like Butterscotch Matcha and Strawberry Matcha sitting alongside a full selection of fresh juices, teas, and coffees.

Beyond the Table

Norii offers a Sushi and Grill Masterclass where guests can learn to prepare sushi and yakitori, available in the afternoon hours. The restaurant also takes private bookings for full venue buyouts of up to 30 guests, suitable for small celebrations, corporate dinners, or group gatherings.
