Transformative collaboration with Matalesoge hospitABLElity Academy to empower individuals through inclusive hospitality.
In a significant move to foster a more inclusive and accessible industry, properties under The Ascott Limited across Jakarta, Tangerang, and Bekasi are proud to announce a collaborative social initiative to commemorate Global Accessibility Awareness Day. In partnership with Matalesoge hospitABLElity Academy, the event will take place on the 13th of May 2026 at Citadines Antasari Jakarta.
The programme aims to bridge the gap between the hospitality industry and individuals with special needs by providing students with tangible skills and a platform to demonstrate their abilities. The day will feature a variety of experiential workshops in which Matalesoge students, accompanied by mentors, will interact directly with professional hospitality teams.
The event highlights include vocational training sessions, where participants will undergo specialised training within the Housekeeping and Food & Beverage Service departments, gaining insight into international hospitality standards; interactive practice sessions, offering students a unique opportunity to work side by side with property teams while fostering meaningful interaction and mutual learning; and a cultural celebration featuring a special musical performance by the Mata Squad Band, an ensemble from Matalesoge that showcases the community’s remarkable artistic potential.

The Global Accessibility Awareness Day initiative forms part of Ascott Indonesia’s ongoing commitment to implementing its sustainability framework, Ascott CARES. As Ascott celebrates three decades in the country under the theme “30 & Beyond”, the initiative also reflects the company’s Beyond Community commitment, highlighting its continued efforts to grow alongside and create meaningful impact for the communities in which it operates.
Over the years, Ascott Indonesia has become part of countless life journeys across the archipelago while continuing to strengthen its role as a community partner through ongoing collaborations and sustainability initiatives. The 30-year journey reflects Ascott Indonesia’s continued commitment to creating a positive and lasting impact beyond hospitality.
“We hope this collaborative event, particularly for Ascott Indonesia, will serve as a reminder and inspiration for all of us — especially Ascott Region Jakarta, Tangerang, and Bekasi — about the meaning of sincerity, passion, and the courage to grow together,” said Ari Suciana, General Manager of Citadines Antasari Jakarta.
“We are very fortunate to be able to learn from and share meaningful moments with our friends from the MATALESOGE hospitABLElity Academy. We want our impact to extend beyond hospitality by creating meaningful contributions that are relevant to the people and communities around us. Collaborations with communities and partners such as Matalesoge hospitABLElity Academy reflect the importance of building a more inclusive and accessible environment together.

“Through initiatives like this, we hope not only to raise awareness, but also to encourage greater understanding, create opportunities, and inspire more positive change within the hospitality industry and beyond.”
This initiative underscores Ascott’s commitment to diversity and social responsibility, proving that the future of hospitality is one in which everyone — regardless of ability — has a place to thrive.
