Video of Tourist Splashing Holy Water at Partner’s Bottom Sparks Controversy

A video of two Czech Instagram influencers misbehaving at a Balinese temple has gone viral over the last few days. Zdenek Souka and his girlfriend, Sabina Dolezalova, were seen near a water spout at the Beji Temple in Ubud Monkey Forest. The temple, which dates back to the 15th century, is dedicated to rice Goddess Dewi Sri.

The video, which was first uploaded via Instagram story, showed Slouka splashing Dolezalova’s bottom with holy water from the temple.

Dr. Arya Wedakarna, a Balinese senator, plans to summon the couple after the video received a backlash from the people of Bali and other Indonesians. Bali Governor I Wayan Koster said earlier that tourists who show disrespect towards holy places in Bali must be ‘sent back home’.

“In future, if there are tourists behaving like that we should just send them home, they are being disorderly coming to Bali,” said the governor.

Dolezalova and Souka have since apologised and taken down the video.
