In commemoration of World Environmental Education Day 2025, HARRIS Hotels Jakarta-Bekasi organised a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, Ascott Care, aimed at raising awareness about the mangrove ecosystem in Jakarta’s Muara Gembong.
Several HARRIS Hotels properties participated in this CSR initiative, including HARRIS Puri Mansion Resort, HARRIS Kelapa Gading, HARRIS FX Sudirman, and HARRIS Jakarta.
This initiative sought to provide a comprehensive understanding of the mangrove ecosystem, enhance the quality of life for various species—including forests—and offer a habitat for diverse flora and fauna.
“For the first time, seven individuals from the general public have been invited to explore the mangrove forest. A big thank you to everyone who has actively contributed to this initiative,” said Francisco Holmes Brown, General Manager of HARRIS & POP! Hotel Kelapa Gading Jakarta.
Through this programme, we are committed to educating the community about the ecological importance of mangroves, their current status, and the need for sustainable conservation efforts. Our goal is to support the long-term development of the Jakarta Mangrove Community as a whole.
“We warmly invite you to visit HARRIS Hotels and Ascott Care to stay informed about our latest initiatives. To continue our efforts in environmental conservation, we must sustain the ecosystem and actively engage with the local community,” said a representative of the Jakarta Mangrove Community.
HARRIS Hotels is dedicated to offering a range of educational activities that align with its ‘Living Balanced‘ philosophy. Families are encouraged to bring their children to participate in the Ascott Care programme, where they can gain valuable insights and develop positive environmental habits.
As a token of appreciation, guests will receive a special letter from HARRIS Hotels, recognising their contribution to this meaningful initiative.
