Sinar Mas Land Facilitates Free Cross-Organisational Medicine for Hundreds of Tangerang Residents

As a expression of social care, Sinar Mas Land has once again partnered with the Sinar Mas Muslim Foundation, Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation, Eka Hospital, Eka Tjipta Foundation, and UPT Pagedes Public Health Centre to unite for social and community service activities at the Ibtidaiyah Islamic Elementary School Raudlatul Anwar (SDMI Raudlatul Anwar), in Pagedangan, Tangerang.

This social service is a form of corporate social responsibility, and takes responsibility for providing benefits to the community, especially those in the area around BSD City.

“Free medical treatment, with a target of 500 residents, will be available as well as free health check-ups, including the examination of uric acid, cholesterol, blood sugar, and teeth. This activity aims to help the less fortunate people around the BSD City area. We hope, through these social service activities, we can create unity in diversity within the BSD City community,” explained Managing Director of the Sinar Mas Land Office President and Daily Chair of the Muslim Foundation of Sinar Mas, Dhony Rahajoe.

A medical workforce consisting of: seven general practitioners, three from the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation, three from Eka Hospital, one from the Pagedangan Health Centre; eight dentists, with seven from the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation and one from Eka Tjipta Foundation; five nurses, three people from Eka Hospital, one person from Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation and one person from Pagedangan Health Centre; and five pharmacists, four people from Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation, and one person from Pagedangan Health Centre. The cross-organisation social service programme is expected to increase public understanding on the importance of maintaining a healthy body.

In 2017, Sinar Mas Land launched a programme in the field of Community Development, named SATU BSD, gathering of all religions through the health and peace focussed programme. In the field of self-sufficient education, Sinar Mas Land, together with Techpolitan, provided a coding scholarship program to residents around BSD City to be trained to become programmers. This education scholarship programme was specifically for students who had graduated from high school and was applicable to the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Life Sciences and the Faculty of Business and Social Science.

Sinar Mas Land also regularly holds a “Pasar Rakyat School” programme at BSD City Modern Market. This activity aims to support economic growth, especially for MSMEs. The participants have been BSD City Modern Market traders who were given knowledge and material supplies such as small business development, introduction to hazardous substances contained in foodstuff. and others.
