Basarnas Bali conducted a search and rescue operation

An American tourist has reportedly gone missing in Nusa Lembongan area, Bali.

Avi Meshil, a 23-year-old tourist from the USA has disappeared after a paddleboarding session in the Mushroom Bay Beach area. According to a report by Kompas, Meshil had gone too far in to the ocean whilst he was paddleboarding.

“The victim may have been having too much fun while he was paddleboarding. According to witnesses, this may have happened around 2.30 pm. He has not been seen since then,” Head of Operations at Bali’s Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas), I.B. Surya Wirawan stated in a press release.

Upon receiving reports about the missing person, Basarnas Bali immediately conducted a search and rescue operation. Last year, a tourist was also reported to be missing after he was swept away by a huge wave at the Devil’s Tear cove in Nusa Lembongan while taking a selfie. Authorities stopped searching for him after a week.
