A Week of Culture, Cuisine and Meaningful Connections

This August, InterContinental Bali Resort presents Celebrate Indonesian Pride, an immersive week-long programme from 14–20 August 2026 honouring Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day through thoughtfully curated culinary experiences, cultural traditions, artisan craftsmanship and authentic local encounters.

Inspired by the richness and diversity of the Indonesian archipelago, the celebration reflects InterContinental’s belief that meaningful travel begins with genuine cultural discovery. Guests are invited to experience Indonesia through its regional flavours, time-honoured traditions and warm hospitality, all set against the resort’s beachfront setting overlooking Jimbaran Bay.

Jimbaran Gardens

At Jimbaran Gardens, the resort’s signature Indonesian restaurant, guests are invited to explore the diverse flavours of the archipelago through a rotating selection of live cooking stations across seven evenings.

Regional specialities include the comforting Soto Lamongan from East Java, finished with its distinctive koya of finely ground prawn crackers and fried garlic; freshly wok-prepared Mie Aceh, celebrated for its aromatic spices; and Pempek Palembang, South Sumatra’s iconic fishcake served with its traditional sweet and tangy cuko sauce.

A Journey Across Indonesia's Culinary

Available throughout the celebration, this culinary experience is priced at IDR 250,000++ per person.

Bella Cucina

On 16 August, Bella Cucina invites guests to celebrate Indonesia’s Independence Day with a special Sunday brunch blending Italian favourites with the rich flavours of Indonesia.

Enjoy classic Italian dishes alongside specially curated Indonesian creations, bringing together the best of both culinary traditions in a festive celebration of food, culture and Indonesian spirit.

KO Restaurant

At KO Restaurant, Izakaya Merdeka brings together the bold flavours of the Indonesian archipelago with refined Japanese culinary techniques from 14–20 August 2026.

The contemporary Japanese izakaya experience features signature creations that celebrate the flavours of Indonesia through a distinctly Japanese lens, including Wagyu Rendang Gyoza, Ayam Taliwang Karaage, and Salmon Maki Sambal Matah. The special menu offers a creative interpretation of Indonesia’s rich gastronomic heritage, pairing familiar local flavours with the precision and artistry of Japanese cuisine.
