La Mewali Resort Opens as a New Resort in Canggu with a Stunning Lagoon Pool

La Mewali Resort has now opened as a new resort in Canggu, built around an eco-wellness concept where organic architecture, water, and intentional design come together within a single property.

La Mewali Resort takes its name from the Balinese word mewali, meaning “to return”, which serves as the foundation of its identity and design philosophy. This concept is reflected through curved architecture, natural materials, and a layered lagoon pool system that flows throughout the property.

Where Water Becomes a Way of Life

All accommodations at La Mewali embrace an organic architectural approach, incorporating terracotta, stone, wood, and bamboo within spaces designed with open-plan layouts and a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living. The resort offers five room categories, each tailored to a different style of stay.

The Suite Lagoon

The One Bedroom Pool Villa with Lagoon Access features a cave-inspired interior that references the Balinese form of Pocahan Padi, complemented by a private plunge pool and direct access to the resort’s lagoon system. The Suite Lagoon is located within the main building and offers warm contemporary interiors alongside direct lagoon access, while the Grand Suite Lagoon occupies a corner position, providing enhanced privacy, elevated interiors, and direct access to the lagoon.

For guests who prefer a pool-view setting, the Suite Pool View offers a contemporary space complete with an outdoor bathtub on a private balcony. The Grand Suite Pool View features a similar open-air bathing experience within a larger and more private layout, complemented by a refined living area.

A Table, a Treatment, a Moment

La Mewali’s dining experiences are centred around two distinct concepts. Wisteria Brunch serves a contemporary breakfast and brunch menu in an open, semi-outdoor setting designed for relaxed daytime dining. Meanwhile, Puri Pure operates exclusively in the evening, showcasing modern Indonesian cuisine where local flavours are elevated through contemporary culinary techniques.

Svaha Spa at La Mewali is home to Bali’s first Nekara Sound Healing Spa, offering treatments such as Traditional Balinese Massage, Hot Stone Therapy for Couples, Herbal Body Wraps, and Nekara Sound Healing sessions.

Life Within the Resort

Guests are welcomed with a personalised arrival ritual that includes a herbal welcome drink and an oshibori service accompanied by a foot wash during check-in. A sunken swim-up bar within the lagoon serves as the resort’s primary social hub throughout the day, while the illuminated lagoon creates a tranquil atmosphere in the evening.

La Mewali also features dedicated yoga and Pilates spaces, alongside a fitness centre for guests prioritising movement and wellbeing. Curated candlelit dining experiences are available for those seeking a more intimate evening within the resort.

Stepping into Canggu

Located on Jalan Raya Canggu, the resort places guests within easy reach of the area’s cafés, boutiques, and local attractions. Batu Bolong Beach is approximately 15 minutes away by car, while Pura Tanah Lot can be reached in around 25 to 35 minutes, making it a convenient base for exploring one of Bali’s most iconic temples.
