Vietnamese low-cost carrier (LCC) Vietjet has officially launched a direct flight from Jakarta to Da Nang starting on the 29th of April, 2026, offering a new travel option for passengers while strengthening ties between the two countries.

This route makes Vietjet the first and only airline to operate direct flights between Jakarta and Da Nang, an increasingly popular coastal tourist destination in Vietnam. With this new service, the journey between the two cities will take only a few hours.

According to a statement published on the official website of Vietjet on Wednesday, the 11th of March, the Jakarta–Da Nang flight service is scheduled to begin operating on the 29th of April, 2026, with five round-trip flights per week: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The planned flight schedule is as follows:

  • VJ950 Jakarta (CGK) – Da Nang (DAD): departs at 6.20 PM and arrives at 10.05 PM (local time);
  • VJ951 Da Nang (DAD) – Jakarta (CGK): departs at 1.25 PM and arrives at 5.20 PM (local time).

In addition, Vietjet also launched the new route of Nha Trang-Singapore, which is scheduled to begin operations on the 1st of June, 2026, with four round-trip flights per week: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

“The new routes will help strengthen tourism and trade connectivity between two of Vietnam’s most attractive coastal cities and Singapore and Indonesia—dynamic economic and tourism hubs of the region. Da Nang and Nha Trang are globally renowned coastal cities of Vietnam, attracting visitors with their pristine beaches, mild climate and distinctive cuisine. Meanwhile, Indonesia’s capital Jakarta impresses with its dynamic urban rhythm and vibrant multicultural culture. The Lion City of Singapore stands out with its iconic architecture, green urban spaces and diverse culinary experiences,” the airline explained in its statement.

To celebrate the launch of the new route, Vietjet is offering promotional fares starting from Rp0 (excluding taxes and surcharges) for flights between Indonesia and Vietnam. In addition, passengers on Eco Class tickets can enjoy a free checked baggage allowance of up to 20 kilograms. Vietjet is also offering instant discounts of up to 20% on SkyBoss Class tickets.

This promotion runs from the 16th to the 20th of March, 2026, on the official Vietjet website and the Vietjet Air mobile app, for travel between the 1st of April, 2026, and the 31st of March, 2027.

Da Nang is known as one of Vietnam’s most increasingly popular coastal cities, offering a combination of natural beauty, culture and culinary attractions. The city is home to several well-known tourist destinations, such as My Khe Beach, famous for its white-sand shoreline, and Ba Na Hills, which feature the iconic Golden Bridge, a globally recognised tourist attraction. Da Nang is also located close to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary.
