Eastar Jet Launches First Direct Flight from Incheon to Manado

The new route, exclusive to Eastar Jet, connects South Korea with North Sulawesi’s hidden paradise, boosting Manado’s global tourism appeal.

South Korean airline Eastar Jet has officially launched its first direct flight from Incheon to Manado, commencing operations on the 26th of October, 2025. This route is unique as it is served solely by Eastar Jet, with no other airlines offering similar services.

In a statement, Eastar Jet described Manado as Indonesia’s “hidden paradise”, boasting tropical allure in abundance, from crystal-clear beaches and volcanoes to a range of popular activities such as snorkelling and trekking. For years, however, tourists wishing to visit Manado had to transit through other airports, including those in China, which added unnecessary delays to their journeys. Now, Eastar Jet provides a direct link, making it quicker and more convenient for travellers to reach Manado and the surrounding region.

Initially, between the 26th of October and the 16th of December, 2025, flights will operate four times a week on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. From the 17th of December onwards, the service will become daily. According to the schedule, flights depart Incheon at 8.25 PM local time and arrive at Sam Ratulangi Airport, Manado, at 1.15 AM local time. The return flight from Manado departs at 2.20 AM local time and lands in Incheon at 8.40 AM local time.

Government officials welcomed the launch of this new route, underlining its potential to enhance the international appeal of Indonesian tourism. They view it as an opportunity to showcase Manado’s distinctive attractions to overseas visitors, ultimately supporting the long-term sustainability of the region’s tourism sector.

Eastar Jet’s Incheon–Manado route is a positive development for Manado’s tourism industry. This service opens up new opportunities for travel and tourism, drawing in a new wave of visitors keen to explore the beauty of Indonesia,” said a government spokesperson, as quoted from the press on Tuesday, the 23rd of September.
