Jokowi Rocks Out at We The Fest

President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo, who is well-known for his love of metal and punk music, made a surprise appearance this weekend at We The Fest dance festival at JI Expo, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

After finishing up the 2017 National Assembly nearby on Friday, Aug. 11, the music-loving president popped by the festival, changing into a festival branded shirt.

Jokowi watched a performance from English singer-songwriter Shura, who welcomed him.

“It’s an honour to have Mr President here,” Shura said from the stage, as reported by Tempo.

He watched a number of songs from electronic artists Charli XCX and took selfies with festival goers for well over an hour.
