Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train Kicks off Operation with Promo Fare

The Soekarno-Hatta airport train, which connects various Jakarta stations to the city’s main airport, started its operation yesterday at a promotional fare of Rp30,000 (US$2.2).

According to railway operator PT Railink, the regular price for the train ticket will be Rp70,000, which will start to apply to all passengers after the promotional period ends on January 1.

At the moment, trains to Soekarno-Hatta airport operate between 3.51 a.m. and 9.51 p.m. every day, making 42 trips daily from Sudirman Baru (BNI City) Station in South Jakarta to Soekarno-Hatta, with a stop at Batu Ceper Station. Trips from the airport, meanwhile, will run from 6.10 a.m. to 11.10 p.m., departing every hour.

Muhammad Awaluddin, the president director of airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II said that the airport train is part of the airport’s effort to improve its service to customers.

“We hope that these new facilities can make Soekarno-Hatta International Airport one of the best airports in the world that is included in Skytrax’ five star (category),” said Awaluddin, as quoted by kompas.com.

Tickets can be purchased online, through mobile applications and vending machines at several stations, including Sudirman Station and Soekarno-Hatta Airport Station.

For online purchases, Android users can download the app at Play Store and App store for iOS users.

Passenger can also make online bookings on reservation.railink.co.id.
