The journey of The Papandayan International Jazz Online Competition (TPJC) 2026 continues.
The international-scale jazz competition is currently still open for participant registration and performance video submissions until March 31, 2026. Through its online format, TPJC once again invites jazz bands from various countries to perform on a global stage while providing a platform to share creativity, musical identity, and cross-cultural collaboration.
Carrying the spirit of “Unity in Harmony,” TPJC provides equal opportunities for both professional and amateur musicians to showcase their best work without geographical limitations. The competition is open in two categories: Youth Jazz (under 23 years old) and Jazz Warrior (above 23 years old).
As the competition progresses, TPJC 2026 has officially announced six judges who will evaluate the participants’ performances: Dwiki Dharmawan, an Indonesian jazz composer and pianist with extensive international experience and cross-cultural collaborations; Barry Likumahuwa, a contemporary jazz-funk bassist known for his modern approach that resonates with younger audiences; Hari Pochang, a senior Indonesian jazz guitarist and respected educator; Venche Manuhutu, a saxophonist and arranger with a long-standing presence in Indonesia’s jazz scene; and two international judges, including Carolina Brusse from the Netherlands, a jazz vocalist known for her distinctive voice and performances across European stages. Carolina Brusse’s participation as a judge is made possible through the full support of Erasmus Huis.
In addition to international recognition, the winners of TPJC 2026 will have the opportunity to receive total cash prizes of IDR 100,000,000, a Gold Plated Trophy, and the chance to perform at The Papandayan Jazz Festival 2026, while also opening doors for collaboration with prominent jazz musicians.
Founder of TP Jazz Management, Bobby Renaldi, stated that TPJC is not merely about competition, but about a musical journey.
“TPJC is designed as an inclusive global stage. In this digital era, we believe that talent is no longer defined by location but by the courage to create and share one’s voice with the world. TPJC is not only about competition—it is a musical journey. Every submission carries a story, character, and the spirit of jazz from its place of origin,” said Bobby Renaldi.
Until the end of March 2026, participants can still register their bands and submit their performance videos through the official website: tpjazzfest.com/tpjazz-competition/
More than just a competition, TPJC 2026 continues to position itself as a global meeting point for jazz musicians—a platform to express identity, build connections, and celebrate jazz as a universal language that unites differences.

About TP Jazz
TP Jazz is a jazz music program and event management initiative organised by The Papandayan Bandung in collaboration with Media Group, held at The Papandayan Hotel since 2013. Numerous renowned jazz musicians—both national and international—have performed at TP Jazz events, leading former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil to declare TP Jazz as “The Address of Jazz in Bandung.”
TP Jazz carries a strong philosophy and commitment to facilitating and developing jazz potential in Bandung. It aims to position the city as a producer of outstanding musicians and jazz groups capable of bringing international recognition to Indonesia.
TP Jazz runs a series of well-planned annual programs, including TP Jazz Weekend, Monthly Special Performance, Road to The Papandayan Jazz Fest (TPJF), the International Online Jazz Competition, and the annual The Papandayan Jazz Fest, which this year marks its 10th edition.
Beyond live music programming and band performances, TP Jazz also hosts jazz-themed initiatives such as online jazz competitions, jazz markets, jazz news, jazz masterclasses, jazz for kids, as well as TP Jazz Universe shows and podcasts.
With the support of sponsors, the TP Jazz program aims to become a central hub for musicians, a platform for appreciation and creativity in the jazz community, and a music tourism attraction in Bandung—ultimately positioning it as one of Indonesia’s key national music event agendas.
