1. Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex (GBK)
Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex played host to the 2018 Asian Games. It’s the largest and one of the oldest sports complexes in Jakarta. You can jog around GBK’s main stadium and on the specially designed, flat running tracks. It gets crowded on Fridays and weekend evenings, but seeing other people’s enthusiasm will absolutely motivate you. The National Monument, or Monas, is an icon of Jakarta. Located in Kuningan, Epicentrum has tracks suitable for jogging in the midst of the business complexes and apartments. Car Free Day every Sunday morning along the roads of Sudirman to M.H. Thamrin is normally filled with many street food stalls and apparel vendors. However, the Governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, has recently ordered the street vendors to only sell their goods in designated zones – mainly away from Bundaran HI – in order for joggers, runners, and cyclists who wish to spend their Sunday mornings to have a pleasant morning workout between 6-11am.

This recently renovated, 3.5-hectare park is a new city favourite to go for quick jogs. You can go for a loop around Langsat Park’s functioning jogging track to cover only 1km. Take off your shoes and socks after an exhilarating cardio session and stroll on the park’s reflexology rock path, or take a breather at any of the park benches available. Hating the scorching Indonesian sun is no excuse to avoid a quick workout because this park has enough shades for everyone.
