Sandiaga Meets MPR Chairman Zulkifli Hasan, Urges Voters to Come Early to TPS

Zulkifli Hasan and Sandiaga Uno

The second vice presidential candidate, Sandiaga Uno, has urged voters to make their way to the nearest polling station (TPS) as early as possible on election day tomorrow, April 17.

“The earlier, the better, so there will be no long queue. I call on voters to vote very early,” Sandiaga urged, while visiting the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) chairman Zulkifli Hasan in the parliament complex in Jakarta.

Zulkifli and Sandiaga reportedly met for a discussion prior to the election. “We are here to gather, relaxing, it [the election] is just a matter of hours. We will determine the way of life of this nation and state as mandated in the 1945 Constitution Article 22e. We have chosen our election system based on democracy, every five years,” said Zulkifli, the MPR chairman.

Zulkifli also encouraged the election organising committee, law enforcers, and state civil apparatus to act according to the constitution during the 2019 general elections.

“We should maintain neutrality for all candidates. This election must be peaceful and legitimate,” Zulkifli added.
