Jokowi and Prabowo Met on MRT, Took Lunch Trip to Senayan

Jokowi and Prabowo

President Joko Widodo and his rival in the 2019 presidential elections, Prabowo Subianto, finally met on Saturday 13th July at Jakarta MRT’s Lebak Bulus Station.

Both embarked on their MRT journey from Lebak Bulus to Senayan. The two also had lunch at FX Sudirman with their respective entourages.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Head of the Jokowi-Ma’ruf campaign team Erick Thohir, Gerindra secretary-general Ahmad Muzani, Gerindra deputy chairman Edhy Prabowo, and Head of BIN Budi Gunawan were also in attendance.

Joko Widodo and Ma’ruf Amin won the presidential election in 2019 with 55.5 per cent of the total votes. The General Elections Commissions or KPU has since been accused of a structural, massive, and systematic fraud by the Prabowo and Sandiaga team, who then proceeded to bring the case to the constitutional court, or MK.

However, last month, the MK stated in its verdict that the accusations thrown by the Prabowo-Sandiaga team were baseless, and that Jokowi-Ma’ruf are the official winners of the 2019 presidential election.
