ACG School Jakarta Graduating Students Take Their Places at World Universities

A bright future for students

Year 13 students graduating this year from ACG School Jakarta have been accepted to top universities around the world.

Six students from the school’s first-ever International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme cohort will be heading abroad for the next stage of their education.

Head Boy Edwin Firmansyah, who has been at ACG for 12 years, has accepted a place studying Electrical Engineering at the University of British Columbia, Canada, named among the top 20 public universities in the world.

Edwin has received the university’s Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award, worth $10,000 Canadian. The OIS Award recognises extraordinary academic, extra-curricular and personal achievements.

Edwin also received offers from the University of Alberta and University of Waterloo.

Head Girl Anisa Mini has been offered conditional positions studying architecture at Edinburgh University, Glasgow School of Art, Queen’s University Belfast, University of Strathclyde, and University of the Arts, London. She accepted a place at University of Strathclyde.

Tamao Hamano has accepted a place to study Marketing at Asbury University in Kentucky, USA, with a 50 per cent scholarship. She also received offers from Washington & Jefferson College, Pennsylvania.

Toby Jessup has received an offer to study Information Technology at RMIT, Melbourne, Australia.

Panyada Khongthong will undertake a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Psychology, at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. She also received offers from the University of British Columbia and the University of Alberta, both in Canada.

Tatsbita Sadikin has accepted a place studying English in the Faculty of Arts at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada.

All ACG School Jakarta students have come through a system which uses international curriculums – Cambridge International and International Baccalaureate – as the platform to satisfy the entry criteria for universities worldwide and compete on the world stage.

ACG School Jakarta principal Shawn Hutchinson said the school’s outstanding academic programme and international mindset set students up for success wherever in the world they choose to go.

“Our students are exposed to a global society in their own environment,” he said. “It gives them an appetite for learning more about the world and opens their minds to global opportunities, which we’re delighted to see them embracing wholeheartedly.”
