Encouraging responsible electronic waste disposal for a greener future.
Fraser Residence Sudirman Jakarta, a business unit of PT Hung Kuang International Hospitality, marked Earth Day 2026 by launching an environmental awareness campaign in collaboration with EwasteRJ, an electronic waste circular ecosystem platform. The initiative aims to educate the community on the importance of responsible e-waste management and its impact on both environmental and human health.
Electronic waste, or e-waste, consists of discarded electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops, batteries, and household appliances. Improper disposal of these items can release hazardous substances, including lead and mercury, which may contaminate the environment and pose serious health risks.
Through this campaign, Fraser Residence Sudirman Jakarta, together with EwasteRJ, seeks to raise awareness about the dangers of improper e-waste disposal while encouraging residents, guests, and the wider community to adopt more sustainable practices. The initiative also introduces the concept of a circular economy in electronic waste management, where materials are responsibly processed and reused.
“We believe that sustainability starts with awareness and small, meaningful actions. Through our collaboration with EwasteRJ, we hope to inspire our community to be more mindful of how they manage electronic waste and contribute to a healthier environment,” said Mrs Wita Junifah, General Manager of Fraser Residence Sudirman Jakarta.
EwasteRJ, as a circular ecosystem platform, provides solutions for stakeholders across the electronic waste recycling chain, supporting responsible disposal and sustainable resource management.
This Earth Day initiative reflects Fraser Residence Sudirman Jakarta’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable living, in line with global efforts to protect the planet for future generations.
