Embracing Javanese Heritage at Hotel Tentrem Jakarta

As the leading 5-star independent hotel in the vibrant heart of Alam Sutera, Hotel Tentrem Jakarta offers an unparalleled experience with 200 elegantly appointed rooms, four distinct dining venues, inviting lounges, and a full range of top-tier facilities.

Opened to the public on the 14th of July 2024, Hotel Tentrem Jakarta brings the essence of Indonesia to life with every step, showcasing the archipelago’s rich cultural heritage and artistic brilliance in every corner. From the moment you arrive, you are invited to immerse yourself in the arts, beauty, and culture, where the timeless traditions of Java seamlessly merge with modern design.

As you enter the hotel gates, you are welcomed by Bodhi trees, symbolising protection and well-being. Moving into the first-floor Lobby, the hotel’s charm and elegance quietly reveal themselves. The interior panels and ceiling feature a modern take on the banji motif, a batik pattern from West Java influenced by Chinese and Indian cultures. This pattern reflects Jakarta as a vibrant cultural crossroads, with banji symbolising multiplied happiness and blessings. Here, you are introduced to Sekar Jagad, a Javanese symbol meaning flowers of the universe, which embodies harmony between all living beings and the cosmos—inviting guests to feel at home in a place of universal balance.

The Ballroom

The first lobby welcomes you to Populico, the vibrant bistro. The journey continues to the second floor, home to the Chinese restaurant, LIN 林, and the Tentrem Ballroom, where the interiors beautifully showcase the richness of Indonesian culture and craftsmanship. In the pre-function area, oak wood accents adorned with intricate Jepara carvings evoke the essence of a traditional Javanese gawangan. Adding to the cultural ambience are artworks by renowned Indonesian artist Jemana Murti, whose creations honour the country’s heritage, drawing inspiration from the timeless reliefs of Borobudur and Prambanan Temples.

Ascending to the third floor, you’ll find the hotel’s meeting rooms. This area features the exceptional work of the renowned architectural and design firm ByoLiving, brought to life through a stunning piece made from natural rattan. The meeting rooms—11 in total—vary in size and are thoughtfully designed to combine functionality with elements of natural beauty and cultural significance. Each room is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, perfect for business meetings or social events.

On the fifth floor, you will discover a sanctuary for both relaxation and family enjoyment. Gaharu Wellness offers a variety of services, including soothing reflexology, spa treatments, and a well-equipped fitness centre. Additional facilities include a sauna and jacuzzi to help guests unwind and refresh. For family-friendly activities, the Aruna Kids Playground provides a comfortable space for children to play, while a peaceful swimming pool invites guests to relax. This harmonious blend of wellness and recreation creates an inviting retreat for those seeking both rejuvenation and leisure.

On the sixth-floor Check-In Lobby, the soft melodies of the Gamelan greet you, setting the tone for a seamless fusion of modern elegance and Javanese tradition. The space is adorned with intricate Jepara wood carvings, featuring the Wijaya Kusuma flower and Kawung batik patterns, symbols that embody the spirit of Tentrem and celebrate Indonesia’s cultural heritage. This refined lobby also houses the hotel’s renowned dining venues—Kayu Manis, Canella, and Tirta Lounge. As you move towards the entrance, you are welcomed by the captivating Amarta area, inspired by the traditional Joglo architecture of Central Java. Amarta Hall, thoughtfully designed for special events, showcases detailed carvings of kembang setaman, the seven ceremonial flowers of Javanese tradition, creating a timeless and culturally rich atmosphere.
