Inside Kaamala Resort's Approach to Eco-Luxury Hospitality

Kaamala Resort & Spa by Ini Vie Hospitality sits within this landscape as a five-star sanctuary built around a single guiding philosophy: that genuine luxury and responsible living are not mutually exclusive.

Guided by the sacred symbolism of the lotus, Kaamala Resort & Spa takes its name from the concept of rising towards clarity and purity, even amidst the complexities of everyday life. Every detail at Kaamala, from its architecture to its guest experiences, reflects a commitment to intentional design and meaningful hospitality.

Where Nature Meets Thoughtful Design

Kaamala‘s 10 accommodation categories are divided into two distinct collections: private pool villas and suites, each thoughtfully positioned to embrace the natural scenery surrounding the property. Throughout the resort, the design language incorporates organic materials, natural stone, and tropical textures that feel authentic rather than ornamental.

The pool villas range from a romantic One-Bedroom Villa with a Private Pool overlooking the jungle canopy to expansive two-bedroom residences framed by sweeping rice-field views. For guests seeking a deeper connection with the landscape, the Grand One Bedroom Private Pool Villa with Ricefield View and the Presidential 2 Bedroom Private Pool Villa with Ricefield View offer open-air living spaces and uninterrupted vistas across golden paddies.

The suite collection adopts a different character, with each room oriented towards forest or valley views. Private bathtubs positioned to overlook the treetops allow guests to fully appreciate the surrounding landscape. Both the Grand Suite with Forest View and the Suite Forest View place nature at the centre of the experience, with soft morning light filtering through the canopy to create a tranquil start to the day.

Guests planning a future stay may also be interested in the resort’s upcoming expansion, The Bloom Continues: A Refined Retreat, which is currently in its final stages of preparation. This new addition is set to extend Kaamala’s thoughtful approach to accommodation design, introducing a refined retreat concept that builds upon the resort’s established identity.

Good Food, Genuine Wellness, Real Rest

Habitat Bistro, located within the resort, combines locally sourced Balinese ingredients with Italian culinary influences in a setting overlooking the surrounding forest. Signature dishes include the Lamb Pappardelle and Ribeye Steak, while the Ginchanting Eden cocktail anchors the drinks menu with its clean, botanical profile. The Tiramisu provides a fitting finale, showcasing the kitchen’s confident execution of a timeless classic.

Shichirin Ubud, another of the resort’s dining venues, presents Japanese cuisine through teppanyaki, sushi, and its signature gyukatsu. For something more immersive, Seven Paintings Ubud offers a theatrical multi-course dining experience in which each dish is designed around an emotional narrative, making it an ideal choice for special occasions or leisurely evenings.

Svaha Spa Bisma brings the wellness aspect of the stay into focus with a range of treatments inspired by Balinese traditions and contemporary therapeutic techniques. The menu includes Traditional Balinese Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Hot Stone Massage, the Svaha Bliss Ritual, a Romantic Couple’s Package, Sound Healing Therapy, a Traditional Boreh Body Wrap, and Yoga and Meditation Packages. Floating Sound Healing sessions and daily yoga classes are also available as part of the resort’s wellness programme, allowing guests to enjoy restorative experiences without leaving the property.

These experiences can be booked as curated packages or tailored to individual interests, giving guests the flexibility to create a stay that reflects their own travel style.

Jalan Bisma and Beyond

Jalan Bisma is one of Ubud’s most walkable and picturesque streets, with the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary located less than 15 minutes away on foot from the resort. Ubud Palace and Ubud Art Market are also within easy walking distance, making it simple for guests to explore the cultural heart of the town without requiring transport.

As an inland property, Kaamala is approximately 90 minutes by car from the nearest beach. Meanwhile, Pura Taman Kemuda Saraswati, one of Ubud’s most photogenic temple complexes, can be reached in around 10 minutes by car. For those wishing to explore more of the region’s natural beauty, the Campuhan Ridge Walk is located nearby and offers one of the finest introductions to Ubud’s lush landscape.
