A 5.7 magnitude earthquake had shaken Melonguane of Talaud Islands Regency, North Sulawesi.
The tremor shook at 6:32 Western Indonesian time on Wednesday 11th September.
The Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released a statement earlier, assuring that there is no potential for a tsunami. No damage has so far been reported.
“The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres. There is no potential for a tsunami,” said BMKG operational staff for the Winangun-Manado Geophysical Station, Zulkifly, in Manado today. The epicentre of the quake was 14km southeast of Melonguane.
