Air Visual: Jakarta Air Quality Improves Following Blackout

Jakarta air quality has experienced an improvement on Monday morning, 5th August, after a widespread power outage on Sunday.

According to Air Visual, the city’s air quality level dropped to below 100 on Monday at 07.30 local time. This has officially put the capital – which topped the list of the world’s most polluted city last week – in 19th place.

The air quality forecaster, Air Visual, recorded the city’s air quality as ‘moderate’, based on the US Air Quality Index (AQI), or at 79, with PM2.5 parameters and 25.5 µg/m3 concentration.
Rawamangun in East Jakarta was named the most polluted area at 165 with 83.2 µg/m³ concentration. It’s followed by Kemayoran, Central Jakarta at 156 with a 65 µg/m³ concentration and Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area in Central Jakarta at 153 with 59 µg/m³ concentration.
