Lebak Bulus MRT Station to have Plaza for Transit

Lebak Bulus MRT station in South Jakarta will have its own transit plaza

President Director of PT. MRT Jakarta, William Sabandar, has confirmed that the Lebak Bulus MRT station in South Jakarta will have its own transit plaza for pick-ups and drop offs.

The plaza will be constructed on a 1,500-square metre plot beside the Poins Square Mall and apartment complex. In order to connect the MRT station to Poins Square, a pedestrian bridge will be constructed within the next five to six months.

“The project is intended to create an integrated place for vehicles to drop-off and pick-up passengers without crowding the roadside near the MRT entrance,” William said. There will also be a place for motorcycle taxis or ojek in front of the Nehemia Church near the station.

The first phase of the MRT currently spans 15.7 kilometres with 13 stations. The second phase, which is currently being prepared, is set to connect Hotel Indonesia Traffic circle in Central Jakarta to Jakarta Old city or Kuta Tua, in the west.
