Aryaduta Hotel Group is thrilled to announce its annual Asta Karya campaign, a vibrant celebration of Indonesia’s rich artistic heritage.
This year’s focus is on Batik, the traditional textile art form renowned for its intricate patterns and cultural significance. Aryaduta Bali will host a special event, Asta Karya, on the 19th of October 2024, dedicated to exploring contemporary Batik as a medium for creative expression.
The event will feature a range of activities, including a vibrant fashion and music talent show supported by The Model Management, showcasing various performances. This will be followed by a special Batik fashion show, featuring a Batik Minahasa collection by Marselianggi and a special collaborative Batik collection between Marselianggi and Yayasan Peduli Kemanusiaan. The collection will include an exclusive Batik scarf available for purchase, with all proceeds donated to Yayasan Peduli Kemanusiaan to support their initiatives for children in need. Aryaduta Bali encourages all attendees, guests, and social media followers to purchase the scarf as a meaningful contribution to this cause.
The centrepiece of the day will be a panel discussion titled “How Can Batik Be Preserved in the Digital World?”. This discussion will explore how Batik, a cherished cultural heritage, can be preserved and adapted in the digital age. The panel will feature a distinguished group of speakers, including representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, fashion industry experts, and the chairwoman of Yayasan Peduli Kemanusiaan. They will provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities of integrating Batik into the digital landscape. Attendees will also have the chance to network with speakers during a coffee break, where MSMEs facing business challenges can seek advice and insights from industry experts. The aim is to foster meaningful connections and provide practical support to those navigating the evolving landscape of their industries.
The event will also host an exciting Batik competition in partnership with Wacom Indonesia and Datascrip. This competition will highlight innovative approaches to Batik design, encouraging participants to combine traditional techniques with digital creativity. Participants will have 1–2 hours to design their Batik creations using Wacom’s innovative tools. The winner of the competition will receive a Wacom device as a grand prize, along with vouchers from Aryaduta Bali. Wacom, known for its interactive pen displays, pen tablets, pens, and apps, is dedicated to empowering and inspiring creativity.
