Make Waves for Change: ROW for R.O.L.E 5.0, a Mission for an Impactful Movement

On Saturday, the 25th of April 2026, Row for R.O.L.E returned for its fifth year, continuing its mission to support education, women’s empowerment, and environmental initiatives in Bali.

Hosted by Grand Hyatt Bali, Hyatt Regency Bali, and Andaz Bali in collaboration with the R.O.L.E Foundation, Row for R.O.L.E 5.0 brought together paddlers for a 13-kilometre canoe journey from the beautiful Sanur Beach at Hyatt Regency Bali to the expansive shoreline of Nusa Dua at Grand Hyatt Bali. With 88 paddlers competing across single, double, and paddleboard divisions, the event successfully raised Rp846,299,154 (USD 48,995).

Paddling with Purpose

Year after year, Row for R.O.L.E carries the same mission: “paddling with purpose”. Every supporter contributes to sustaining a community movement focused on vocational education, women’s empowerment, and environmental initiatives in Bali.

Across Indonesia, hundreds of thousands of young women possess the intelligence, skills, and motivation to lead purposeful lives. Yet many remain trapped in cycles of poverty, without access to the facilities and opportunities they deserve. To help these women pursue their dreams, the mission is to empower and uplift them. Hyatt proudly supports the Bali WISE programme by the R.O.L.E Foundation, nurturing their potential so they can support their families, achieve financial independence, and create a ripple effect of empowerment for future generations.

Through the Bali WISE programme, the R.O.L.E Foundation selects talented young women from schools across Indonesia and brings them to Bali for six months of intensive training. In addition to essentials such as accommodation, meals, and a living allowance, the programme provides hospitality and tourism training, English language development, and practical skills—opening doors to brighter futures within the hospitality sector.

Over Rp4 billion has been raised over the past four years, transforming the lives of nearly 400 young women. Together, these efforts are rewriting stories of hardship into stories of strength, independence, and opportunity.

Shop for a Cause

This year, Row for R.O.L.E 5.0 also launched an online auction. The auction featured a curated selection of experiences and offerings, including luxury resort stays, dining experiences at Bali’s most celebrated restaurants, wellness and spa treatments designed for rest and rejuvenation, as well as curated activities and adventures across the island. This initiative offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, with proceeds supporting young women from underserved communities by equipping them with valuable skills in hospitality and digital marketing.

To further amplify the impact and raise awareness, guests were invited to participate in both the race and the auction, demonstrating a shared enthusiasm for the cause and the event.
