Eva Air and Air New Zealand Voted Best Air Carriers in Asia and South Pacific

The Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) has announced the 2019 Passenger Choice Awards for the Asia and South Pacific region in Shanghai. Taiwanese airline Eva Air took the award for best air carrier in Asia. Meanwhile, Air New Zealand swept up three out of the nine awards, namely Best Global Carrier in the South Pacific, Best Seat Comfort, and Best Cabin Service.

The APEX Passenger Choice award assesses carriers based on passenger feedback from TripIt, the world’s highest rated organising app. Over a million flights were rated on a five-star scale by fliers aboard 500 airlines around the world. The passengers are asked to provide anonymous feedback and rate their overall flight experience from one to five stars. They are also be asked to evaluate other factors such as seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverages, entertainment, and wi-fi services.

Dr. Joe Leader, CEO of APEX/IFSA, said that APEX highlights some of the best examples in the world of airline-passenger experience. “Our annual APEX Asia Pacific awards highlight exactly where extraordinary service is occurring and helps accelerate future airline advancements for the next cycle of innovation,” Dr Leader stated.
