The Bali police have arrested two nightclub promoters from Melbourne for possession of cocaine during weekend raids in the resort town of Canggu.
The two Australians, aged 35 and 38, are reportedly involved in a major cocaine trafficking syndicate.
The 35-year-old Australian reportedly moved to Bali in September to promote a few nightclubs to international tourists. The other man, 38 is known to have arrived in Bali recently. He had previously managed a club in St Kilda, Melbourne.
The police gathered evidence based on CCTV footage from a venue in Canggu. They also discovered a set of scales during the raids. Another prominent figure at a Melbourne nightclub has also reportedly fled to Singapore after the Bali police raided his apartment. The investigation process is still ongoing in the case.
