Indonesia to Host FIFA World Cup U-20 2021

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) President, Gianni Infantino, has officially announced that Indonesia will host the World Cup U-20 in 2021.

“Congratulations, Indonesia,” said Infantino, after Indonesia won the bid, beating Brazil and Peru to become hosts of the sporting event.

Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI) secretary-general, Tisha Desria expressed her delight. “Alhamdulillah, our hard work has paid off. Our presentation was well-received by FIFA. PSSI thanks President Joko Widodo, who fully supports PSSI, and we appreciate related ministries and regional heads that are committed to helping PSSI in realising the dream to be the host of the 2021 U-20 World Cup,” she said.
Ten stadia have been planned to accommodate the football tournament, according to President Joko Widodo. These stadia are Gelora Bung Karno (Jakarta), Pakansari (Bogor), Manahan (Solo), I Wayan Dipta (Bali), Mandala Krida (Yogyakarta), Jakabaring (Palembang), Wibawa Mukti (Cikarang), Patriot (Bekasi), Jalak Harupat (Bandung), and Gelora Bung Tomo (Surabaya).
