I-AM Associates marks its entry into the Indonesian market after successfully transforming Bank Danamon’s branches, aiming to elevate experience design across the ASEAN region.
Global experience design agency I-AM Associates is excited to expand into ASEAN markets through its newly established presence in Jakarta, Indonesia. After successfully designing and delivering a customer experience and branch transformation project for Bank Danamon, one of Indonesia’s top banks, the agency has entered the Indonesian market. With I-AM’s design leadership and the vast opportunities within the ASEAN markets, the agency is eager to elevate the creative experience design industry in the region.
I-AM was tasked with transforming the bank’s branch network to better align with the ‘Guiding Light’ brand purpose and adapt to the rapidly changing needs of its customers. In response to Bank Danamon’s brief, I-AM aimed to create inspiring spaces for connecting people and accessible platforms for sharing knowledge. The new branch formats were first piloted in 2022 in Java and Sumatra. As a result of this design overhaul, 105 branches across different cities have been successfully transformed to date, offering integrated solutions to customers and communities.
“It was incredible to be part of and witness the transformation of Bank Danamon’s branches under I-AM’s design leadership. Building on this success, I-AM now has a strong presence in Jakarta and is poised to expand into wider ASEAN markets, demonstrating how both physical and digital design can deliver ROI. One hundred and five branches across 18 cities were successfully transformed from 2023 to 2024,” said Martin Nugroho, Managing Director of I-AM Jakarta.

With the success of Bank Danamon’s branch transformation and customer experience design, the bank was awarded the title of “Best Retail Bank in Indonesia” at the Retail Banker International Asia Trailblazer Awards 2024.
Building on its success and the growing demand for design, I-AM expanded into the Indonesian market in March 2024, aiming to enhance the country’s experience in the design industry. The I-AM Jakarta Studio will be led by Martin Nugroho, an experienced professional in the design and build industry, and will adopt a regional focus, serving Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
