This year’s theme, Festive in Sphere, highlights the connection between celebration and sustainability. At the heart of this concept stands a spectacular Christmas tree at The Lobby Courtyard, crafted from twelve thousand plastic bottles. The installation is the result of months of collecting, collaborating, and hand-assembling by dedicated employees, transforming everyday waste into a breathtaking holiday centrepiece.

Upon arrival, guests are welcomed by a giant Christmas snowball in the Lobby, creatively built using eco-friendly and repurposed materials — a meaningful introduction to a festive season rooted in mindful celebration. Holiday decorations throughout the resort continue this environmentally responsible ethos, with every piece, from ornaments to large installations, thoughtfully handcrafted by the resort’s team using recycled, reusable, and repurposed items. Beyond celebrating the warmth of the festive season, the initiative also aims to inspire greater awareness of environmental conservation among guests of all ages.

Adding to the heartfelt atmosphere, a children’s choir from Yayasan Widya Guna delivered a touching performance of Christmas songs during the ceremony. Their voices brought joy to families and guests while also reflecting the resort’s commitment to nurturing community relationships and supporting meaningful social causes.

“Every year, the decorations at Padma Resort Ubud become more impressive, but this year the message feels especially meaningful,” said Dery Sukma, General Manager of Padma Resort Ubud. “It is heart-warming to see Christmas celebrated in a way that brings joy while also respecting nature. The tree made from recycled plastic bottles is not only beautiful, but also a reminder that creativity, teamwork, and sustainability can truly go hand in hand.”

The evening began with a warm welcome in the Lobby Courtyard, leading to the highly anticipated countdown, where guests joined together to illuminate the Christmas tree and surrounding decorations. Families, couples, and employees gathered in celebration, accompanied by the children’s choir, canapés, champagne, cocktails, and mocktails — made even more magical with drifting snowfall from the resort’s snow machine. Guests can continue to enjoy this festive snowfall experience every day at 6pm and 9pm throughout the season.

The Christmas installations will remain on display throughout December, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy photo spots, festive entertainment, and curated seasonal dining experiences across the resort.
